The ISTQB® Advanced Level Test Analyst (CTAL-TA) certification is a valuable asset for individuals who want to further develop their skills and expertise in software testing. To be eligible for the CTAL-TA certification, individuals must hold the Certified Tester Foundation Level certificate and have sufficient practical experience. The exam consists of 40 questions with a total of 80 points and a passing score of 52. The exam length is 120 minutes, with an additional 25% time for non-native language speakers.
Upon successfully completing the CTAL-TA certification, individuals will be able to perform appropriate testing activities based on the software development life cycle, prioritize testing activities, apply appropriate test techniques, provide appropriate documentation, determine functional testing types, participate in requirements reviews, and improve the efficiency of the testing process through the use of tools.

The ISTQB® Member Board has assessed the training materials for relevance and consistency against the syllabus. Self-study using the syllabus and recommended reading material is also an option for preparing for the exam.
