Foundation of Software Testing

The ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification provides a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts and terminology of software testing. It is suitable for individuals in roles such as testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers, software developers, project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, IT directors, and management consultants who need a basic understanding of software testing. The exam consists of 40 questions and the passing score is 26. The exam duration is 60 minutes, with a 25% increase for non-native speakers. Upon passing the exam, the candidate should be able to demonstrate proficiency in communication, testing concepts, test design, test execution, test management, defect reporting, and more. Training is available from Accredited Training Providers and self-study using the syllabus and recommended reading materials is also an option. After passing the CTFL exam, individuals will be eligible to pursue further certifications in the Core stream, such as Test Analyst, Technical Test Analyst, or Test Management Advanced Level. They may also choose to follow the Agile or Specialist streams for specific skills development.
